The night was young and Kikioko sat upon a swing, letting the wind run through her hair. She inhaled. The air was crisp and smelled of on coming rain. She looked up and a freezing drop of water hit her nose and slid into her mouth. she swallowed and then frowned.

she began to walk towards the street and to the small apartment her father had got for the two of them. it was a one room apartment, with a tiny bathroom and an even smaller kitchen. She waited on a taxi and it came within five minutes. by then Kikioko was drenched in the chilling drops. the driver looked back at her and chuckled to himself.

"do u have a problem mister?" kikoko snapped angrily.
"no," the driver began but continued to laugh anyway.
ignoring the plump mans ignorence, she gave him the name of the apartments she stayed and he drove her, staring in his rear view mirror to get a glympse at the passengers shirt, which was see through thanks to the rain. Kikioko took her jacket and wrapped it around her. 'pervert,' she thought to herself.

when kikioko reached her destination, she swung the door open and ran into the complex entrence without paying the driver any attention to his demand for pay. She called on the elevator and found it was on the twelth floor. she sighed and waited, waiting in the dim room, alone, until the door to the garage door swung open.

a man walked out of the garage, a man kikioko didnt know, or had even seen. He was eerie, scary even. he had on a long black trench coat, the kind that almost reached the floor. he had silvery hair, not white, but silver, which was tuked undernethe a flat black hat. he was looking down, mummbling to himself. kikioko listend, making out a few words. ".....dead......killed.......why?!....." she was frightend now. killed? dead? hes..... she looked back from her thoughts and up to the tall man. he was looking at her, in a cold hard stare. chills ran down her spine, her eyes widend, and she began to shake. "you look cold..." the man said, beginning to take off his trench coat. he stretched out his arms to wrap it around her but she stepped back. the man chuckled. "im not going to hurt you," he replied to her sudden movements. where is that damn elevator she wondered. still on the twelth floor. the man came closer, closer he came.
CLOSER...
CLOSER....
CLOSER.....

'.....dead....killed.....slotered....'

"GET AWAY!" Kikioko was panting, her forehead dripping of cold sweat. she was dreaming, having a nightmare....."its just a dream....just a dream..." she sat up and began to walk to the center of her room, stopping to pick up her cat, Cheddar. She looked out the window, it was gloomy, as if it had rained that night, as if the nightmare was true. it cant be, it just cant! she reminded herself.

TUMP, TUMP! the door cried. Cheddar hissed and jumped to the ground, falling on only two of his feet then stumbling over. Kikioko swore that that cat wasnt a cat at all but some human, stuck in his body. maybe, kikioko spoke in her mind, he's my magical lover, the one in the fairy tales, and he will sweep me off my feet and take me-- TUMP,TUMP, TUMP! the door was screaming now. "Come in!" kikioko cried.

it was kikioko's neighbor, Mrs. Minoru. she was a thick woman, with little neck and pudgy hands. she had matted blonde hair with green eyes behind small glasses that seemed they would crack under the pressure of the womans overflowing browridge. she was weezing, sweating, and smelled of bernt baccon. "Good....morning.....miss.....woo....!" she panted. Kikioko pulled out a chair for Mrs. Minoru to sit.
